Very fine and important serie of four  French 18th century  engravings , executed and engraved by the famous B. Picart and printed by  Veuve Chereau , Paris . The originals are the paintings of Charles Le Brun, first painter of the King Louis XV and decorator of the Chateau of Versailles.  Representation of  antique history of  conflicts between Alexandre , Darius and Porus. Each scene has a title, in a central frame, in three language , Latin, French and English. In the vertical bord appear the two "L" of the king Louis XV.   With their period mohagony frame with a brass margin and their period glasses .     In good conditions
